Everyone and every shoe is unique, but the average is about 350-400 miles. I used to change at 350, but nowadays, I have some that I'll push through 1000 miles and more.

Yeah, everyone has a preference. When you wear your trainers during everyday activities you are adding more mileage to the shoe. Your shoes will last a lot longer if you only wear them while training. Plus your feet will be happier :)

Oh my goodness! Ha. I was just asking that question myself...and then I read an article on http://www.traxee.com ( a women's running site) about how often you should be getting new shoes...they even have this thing where you enter your shoe and date of purchase...the site keeps track of your logged miles and tells you when its time to go shoe shopping! Very cool.

Best Wishes,
Gray

like formanflier i often uses my for 1000 miles and more, (until i got some bucks to spent, LOL ^_^) but don't forget that each person is going to have unique needs so what is good for one runner, may not be good for another runner. one thing more once in my past years i got a problems in some injuries because of having failed to use the right gear/ shoes, I end up having bruises or fractures.. So just take it easy choosing shoes that you are going to use and buy.

Nice! So there is a device that can log the number of miles I have ran.
