I recently started training to run my first marathon. A friend of mine lent me a copy of The Non-Runner’s Marathon Trainer. Has anyone else read this book? If so, what do you think about it?

Has anyone trained by it?

You can probably get some good tidbits out of it and maybe it's appropriate if you just want to "check the marathon box" and basically quit running, but I wouldn't use a book like that as a bible. It probably has some general good pointers for new marathoners. You're better off following something like at http://www.halhigdon.com for new marathoning recommendations. I have not read it, but I've heard bits and pieces here and there and I don't generally believe in the prospect of non-runners running marathons.
