I've noticed that as I progress with my marathon training and increase my weekly milage that I am having more and more trouble with eating after workouts. I simply don't feel like eating until 1-2 hours after I run! I know this is not great for my recovery. The frequency of feeling hungry increases the more calories that I burn, but my body feels like it is resisting being fed! My stomach barely tolerates my regular amount of food("regular" aka: quantity of food I ate prior to being in training.)
Also, I feel like I've been having major heartburn...after I run, but sometimes during the run and even throughout the day. I am eating healthy meals, hydrating etc... Is it a problem that anyone else can relate to running?
HELP! This can't be normal?!

I had read that during work outs longer than 90 minutes blood that is usually around and in your organs, concentrates in your muscles and therefore your digestive system is weakened. That would be why you would have troubles eating, have hurt burn, etc.
It usually takes me few hours after a run longer than 90 minutes to be able to eat anything. Protien drinks always help to settle my stomach.
I also treat myself to anything I crave once I am able to eat :) ..
On the other hand I believe everybody is different and needs to find what works for them. Good luck with you training!! :)

Approximate 1 year ago, I was also informed that your digestive system is weakened during intense workouts.
However, I was given a good tip.....
To relieve the discomfort of heartburn... drink milk! Drink a small amount of nonfat or skim milk every one to two hours to wash acid back down into the stomach. If milk is unavailable, use small amounts of water

along the same lines as the other posts, chocolate milk is a great recovery food. the dairy might help settle your stomach, drinks are genearlly easier to stomach, and lowfat (1-2%) chocolate milk has been found by reserach to have an almost perfect nutritional profile for recovery (carbs, protein, fat, etc)

hello Darman18, running requires a lot of energy and hence should be well equipped with heavy diet which is sometimes not good for your digestion. So you are getting heavy heartburn at times. I suggest you to consult a sport physician who can correctly reciprocate into details and suggest you like wise. Till then, suspend running.
