I'm 41 and did last year's Dublin marathon 3:43 with the minor heel line stress fracture. I'm 99% fit this year and been doing my long runs regularly with the average 45miles/wk. I'm upto 21 miles so far and did quite a few 15-20miles. But unfortunately have missed my 18 miler this Sunday and haven't done more than 20 miles so far in this week. I have a half marathon on this Saturday(22nd Sept) which I'll consider as my long run with 1 mile before and a mile after. I'm going for 3:25 - 3:27 this year's marathon, I would like to hear from someone that will it make any difference? I still have 23 or 24 mile run due next week and then 18 miles in following week. My ten miler was 74 minutes a month ago.
I would appreciate if I could get some idea.

I don't fully understand your concern. Is it whether you'll be ok doing the half with an extra mile before and after? Nothing wrong with that. No point in crying over a run you missed, that's for sure.

Thanks formationflier. By 1 mile before half marathon and a mile after marathon meant that I'll assume it as my long run this weekend as I'm moving towards my marathon. I was worried that the long run I missed may have an impact on my marathon result.
Thanks again.

That will be no problem. People have made due with much more significant holes in training!
