hi ! i ran the half marathon earlier this year (jan) without much training. I would like to do the full marathon in Jan 2010 and hence need guidance /advise as to how I should go about my training . I am 40 years old. Presently I run about 4 to 5 miles every alternate day.

Marathontraining.com is a good place to start.

Hi Sachin, congratulations on your half marathon and best of luck for your marathon in Jan 2010. Its only 4 months to go now and in my opinion you are doing too little right now, if you want to run a marathon in Jan 2010. I'll be 43 years old in December this year and I've done quite a few marathons and have a half marathon coming up on 26th of September and then the marathon on 26th of October 2009. If you send me your 5k, 10k and the half marathon race fiinish timings then I could send you a training program but I think you'll have to move into 4th or maybe top gear in next few weeks or else "the marathon" could become an agony for you. Being a personal trainer, I believe if you have determination and you really want to do it then you still can do it. All you need to do is, just finish if off.

Regards.
