Hope someone can help me. I have less than a month before the Disney marathon and my training has dropped off due to cold/snow/hip bursitis injury (live in WI). Week 11 of training (Thanksgiving) I had built up to 20 mi. but since then my training has been limited (3x/wk with one 15 mile long run). Am at week 15 (of 18) and am wondering if I will be okay to still run the marathon. Bursitis recovery time? cross train?
info: 39 y.o. female 5'1" 112lbs. 3rd marathon 4:42avg
run 4x/wk 25-35mi/wk (5 kids under 9 y.o.!)

With 5 kids under 9, forget it, the answer is no.
Just kidding. Well, you're still able to get in 15 mile runs, so that's better than a lot of people. Of course, the right answer is to fully recover and cross-train for a while until all is better, then resume training slowly for the next opportunity. It's really not a question someone else can answer for you, but given that you're ok for your 15 mile runs, that's certainly more than many people do and likely sufficient to make it through, albeit on a non-optimal schedule and with some likelihood that you will exacerbate the problem with your hip. Only you know how you feel and how much the long runs seem to be making the problem worse, if at all, so it's just a matter of your judgment.

Just wanted to let you know that my hip (ended up being more of a sciatica than bursitis) was not a problem at the marathon. I was limping around the days prior but then day of the marathon...not even a twinge of pain. Miracle? Endorphins? Adrenaline? Whatever, I am taking it and...RUNNING! :) Thanks for your help

Stranger things have happened! Glad it worked out for you - good luck in getting to full recovery and rebuilding for the next.
