Theres not a lot of cushioning, I wouldnt do any high mileage in them, but Id guess maybe for those running 30-40 mpw it wouldnt be a bad shoe...but thats just a guess, I have no idea. But theres definately not a lot of stability.

i tried them on at a booth at my last race. They don't feel very right. I know that your foot is not supposed to really feel anything...but im not used to that so i felt freaky...it really had no support to it so if you would run anything over maybe a half marathin i bet they would come off about 2-3 times.
Plus, Their freakin UGLY. I looked at them and then they didn't look bad but once it was on my foot i though i was going underwater exploring with water makisans....

Price tag is OK but i rather have the new nike shoes coming out in november. They have just as much flex and SUPER lightweight and also they are supportive.
I forget what they are called but i will try to look it up and post again.

hoped this helped,
Mark

I read that they were useful to increase foot strength over time and there lightness would help in short races.
Again you wouldn't want to run long distances in them unless you have feet like Zola Bud, and if you did yu wouldn't need them.
Might get them for racing, but a bit extravegant.

The Nike Free has been designed as a training aid to train the muscles, endons and ligaments in your feet that you don't use when wearing ordinary trainers. The idea is that you do shorter tempo runs in them to slowly build the strength in the muscles up and the idea is that if your feet are stronger you will over time run quicker.

There is research to prove this as well. There's a few people that I know who have done PHD's looking into this and have found that the people who run barefoot over a 6 month period actually runs quicker than the person wearing running shoes.

If you work in a sports shop then these shoes are idel for your shop shoes as they're like slippers and at the same time you're giving your feet a workout!

im workin in a sport store and wear the free 7.0's while im at work. went running in them once but like most people have already said, there wasnt enough support. I got home with pretty sore feet and could felt that i wasnt running as i normally would with 'regular' shoes.

I also learnt that they were originally designed for the african long distance runners who run bare footed. Makes sense as these are supposed to mimic the bare-foot feeling.

So apart from saying what everyone else has, i wouldnt want to wear them myself. But try them out, maybe good for you?
